The cartoon on Monday’s opinion page, showing a black father talking to his son, was clearly prejudicial against our law enforcement community. The father seemed to forget to mention a fourth thing to always do when you talk to a police officer. Always tell the truth.
Also, on the same day, there was a letter from Pat Hampton about the offer of a 50 percent off deal for any new 52 week subscription. She was told this offer is only for “new” subscribers. I, also, have been a faithful subscriber as this paper has gone on a serious downhill spiral. Where is my offer of a 50 percent discount for the next year? Are new subscribers more important to your paper than old years-long faithful ones?
I have seen this paper make many, in my opinion, unfavorable changes, since the change of ownership. These two particular issues are the last two “nails in the coffin,” to cause me to cancel my longtime seven-day-a-week subscription, as soon as my current pay period is up.
