I was at the Evergreen Cemetery on the Saturday before Memorial Day.
I have never been there before when the flags were being placed at veterans’ graves. It looked like one or more Boy Scout troops, their moms, dads, older and younger brothers and sisters, even some grandparents were out there in the cold Washington rain, reading the names on each grave to see where the veterans lay.
I only tended five graves, and I was soaked to the skin when I got home.
I want to use The Daily Herald to thank these wonderful boys and their families for the very much appreciated work they did on May 25.
