POST FALLS, Idaho –– Stateline Speedway Saturday, The racers in four divisions paid tribute to a great friend to racing in the Inland Empire, as the track, fans and racers celebrated pure racing excitement during The Gary Miller Memorial 100 evening.
The near full house made quick work in donning the 380 plus special tee shirts, celebrating Gary Miller, and the annual 100 lap event.
The Northwest Modifieds showed excitment, and close compitiion. The 100 lap main event. brought Tim Sawyer to the finish line, for his second GM100 carrer win.
The main event saw exciting and close racing action every lap, had a spin, and restart, and the excitement continued as the faster cars stretched out leads and overcame the slower contenders. The podium was shared by Rick Gimeno for second place and Chris Ochs who arrived in third position.
The Northwest Legends brought their excitement to the track in a special exhibition race.
Nose to tail for 15 laps, saw Jake Bisset, arrive first, with brother Joey second followed by Ron Custer in third.
A fantastic field of Hobby Stocks, in the 25 lap main provided the crowd with awesome close driving abilities, near miss collisions, a wall scrape here and a roundly round spin there, after the cheering and the fun, the podium held Billy Swift in first, with a hat trick for the nights work, J.C. Ward in second and Tim Emerald in third.
The Growing Early Stock Division, (30 and 40s style cars) brought a large field to the track in their 20 lap main and provided the crowd more excitement and an awesome show as well. Justin Robideaux took first place followed by Billy Husk (driving the Armstrong car) and Shawn Priest taking third place.
Saturday the ICAR Racing Series takes to the track along with Street Stocks and the Northwest Pro 4 Trucks. Events start a start at 6pm. General admission is $12 for adults; kids under six are free.
The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues every Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4’s, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.
