SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. — A Maryland man has died from injuries suffered in a race at Summit Point Raceway in the Eastern Panhandle.
The National Auto Sport Association announced the death of 28-year-old Cale Kastanek of Hagerstown, Md., on its Web site. The association said Kastanek was injured Sunday in an accident at the Jefferson County track.
Kastanek died Monday at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va.
The association said Kastanek participated in Time Trial, autocross and other forms of motorsports.
He also was a professional pilot.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home in Hagerstown.
