EVERETT — The Eugene Emeralds jumped out to a six-run lead after three innings and finally slowed the streaking Everett AquaSox with a 9-2 win on Friday night at Funko Field.
Jared Dupere’s two-run triple in the first and Aeverson Arteaga’s two-run home run in the third were the key hits as the Emeralds took a 6-0 lead the would never relinquish.
Alberto Rodriguez had two doubles, and Randy Bednar and Blake Rambusch had two hits each for the AquaSox, who managed ten hits but just the 2 runs.
Nick Davila took the loss with six runs allowed in five innings for Everett (38-34, 4-2 second half), which lost for just the second time in its past 11 games.
Dupere finished with three hits and Ghordy Santos added a two-run home run for Eugene (37-35, 3-3).
