Everett G&CC hosts 2024 PNW PGA Professional Championship

Players at the local tournament tee off Sept. 17-19.

The Everett Golf & Country Club is hosting the 2024 PNW PGA Championship, one of the Pacific Northwest PGA Section’s largest tournaments of the year, Sept. 17-19.

The three-day, 54-hole, no-cut, stroke-play event will feature some of the best professionals from Washington, Oregon, Montana and parts of Idaho, all with the goal of placing in the top seven for qualification into the 2025 PGA Professional Championship held in April at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Local bragging rights, the Section championship title and an anticipated $80,000 purse are also at stake.

Head golf professional Austin Hurt of Wing Point Golf & Country Club, based in Bainbridge Island, returns to defend his title after shooting a 4-under-212 at last year’s tournament at Tumble Creek Club.

Everett G&CC’s Matt Epstein (head golf professional), Jason Himple (first assistant) and Thomas Larson (assistant professional) will also be playing; Epstein is in Hurt’s group on Tuesday.

Other local head golf professionals who’ll be teeing off include Battle Creek Golf Course’s Alex Stacy and Echo Falls Golf Club’s Dan Franson.
