SNOHOMISH — Close basketball games often come down to a few critical possessions and Tuesday’s contest between Glacier Peak and Jackson at Glacier Peak High School was no exception.
“Our kids made enough plays when we needed to, to get the win,” Glacier Peak head coach Brian Hunter said after GP’s 56-54 Wesco South victory.
Both teams started slow but Drew Cummins was able to pace the Grizzlies along scoring nine first-half points. Brandon Hill was Glacier Peak’s leading scorer with 16 points, eight of which came in the fourth quarter.
“We had different guys step up at different points in the game,” Hunter said.
Glacier Peak outrebounded Jackson 23-15 and Devon Kiser led the group with seven rebounds. Cummins was the Grizzlies second best rebounder grabbing five.
Ryan Todd led all scorers with 26 points for Jackson.
