BELLINGHAM — Bailey Matthew netted a hat trick as Shorecrest rolled to an impressive season-opening, non-league win.

Cassie Chesnut, Darci Dalziel, Emma Orthel and Kai Johnson added goals, and Chesnut, Bria Metcalf Lindenburger, Sarah Ehrhart, Ezzie Fogg and Kiernan Ledoux chipped in assists for Shorecrest. Tati Zahajko and Kylee Mitchell combined to post the shutout in goal.

Arlington 3, Mount Vernon 0

ARLINGTON — Izzy Berhman, Haley Wagester and Rachel Snow all scored, and Katie Snow posted a clean sheet in goal to lift Arlington to a season-opening shutout win.

Wagester and Jersey Walker had assists for Arlington.

Archbishop Murphy 4, Marysville Pilchuck 0

MARYSVILLE — Chloe McCoy opened the season with a hat trick, and Ashlie Latte and Elle Kahn combined for the shutout in goal as Archbishop Murphy sailed to a non-league win.

Georgia Frank added a goal, and Kylie Hendry, Kamdyn Latta and Ava Marr all had assists for Archbishop Murphy.

MILL CREEK — Ravenna Coleman had 13 kills and five aces, and Addison Eastwood added nine kills and eight digs to lead Jackson to a 26-24, 25-19, 25-18 season-opening sweep.

Claire Swander had 15 digs and Riley Sevilla added 11 digs for Jackson.

Glacier Peak 3, Snohomish 1

SNOHOMISH — Ava Nowak had 12 kills and eight digs, and Hanna Ligons added nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage as Glacier Peak opened its season with a hard-fought 25-27, 25-17, 25-13, 30-28 rivalry win.

Tessa Mossburg had 13 digs and Chloe Wiersma chipped in 20 assists for Glacier Peak.

Ellie Wetmore had 20 assists and three kills, Heidi Chambers had four digs, five kills and five aces, and Keira Beverford added five kills for Snohomish. Kelse Nichols filled the stat sheet with six kills, one ace, one assist, one dig and a 2.1 serve receive, Sophie Red Elk added four killls and Anika Smith chipped in eight digs and two aces for Snohomish.

Lake Stevens 3, Arlington 0

ARLINGTON — Last year’s 4A state runner-up Lake Stevens opened its season with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-14 sweep of Arlington.

Melissa Hadley had four kills and three aces, Emme Shaffer had two kills, two aces and one block, Heather Wood added three kills and Grace Armes chipped in six assists for Arlington.

Marysville Getchell 3, Mariner 0

EVERETT — Quinn Gleason had six kills and nine digs, and Ekjot Bhandal added five kills and three aces as Marysville Getchell swept Mariner 25-21, 25-13, 28-26 to open the season.

Kayla Ream and Aryana Knorr had four kills each, Sara Reid had 11 digs and Katrina Gutenkauf added 18 assists and two aces for Marysville Getchell.

Sydney Clarke had four kills and five digs, Elsie Rudberg had eight digs, Ellani Rocha-Bernal added seven digs and Diyo Kuoi had two blocks for Mariner.

Monroe 3, Woodinville 0

MONROE — Sawyer Mahler had nine kills and five aces, and Karisa Martin added seven kills as Monroe opened its season with a 25-13, 25-16, 25-20 non-league sweep over Class 4A Woodinville.

Shannara Peebles had six kills, Niya Insixiengmay had 12 digs, Lexi Walker added 14 assists and Sara Skold chipped in 11 assists for Monroe.

Lakewood 3, Cascade 2

EVERETT — Payton Langum had 27 assists and Frankee Powers ended with a .417 hitting percentage as Lakewood fell behind by two sets early and rallied to beat Cascade 23-25, 22-25, 25-13, 25-12, 15-9 on opening night.

Meg Omlid contribute a hitting percentage of .229 and added five aces with an SR rating of 2.31 for Lakewood.

Amara Williams had seven kills and four aces, Suleyka Uriostegui had 15 assists, three kills and three aces, and Kiana Volkmann added eight digs for Cascade.

Darrington 3, Sound Christian Academy 0

DARRINGTON — Allie Cochran had 13 aces, three kills and nine digs, and Claire Wright added seven aces, five kills and nine digs as Darrington won its second straight non-league game to open the season.

Ciela Dewberry had 19 assists and five aces, and Carli Espeland added 11 digs for Darrington.
