Prep stars of the night for Friday, Dec. 13

PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR FRIDAY, DEC. 13:

Madyson Baxter, Marysville Pilchuck girls basketball

Baxter, a junior, led the Tomahawks with 13 points in a 41-38 non-conference win over Cascade. Marysville Pilchuck trailed the Bruins 34-29 entering the fourth quarter, but finished the game on a 12-4 run — including three points from Baxter — to win.

Brooke Kearney, Edmonds-Woodway girls basketball

Kearney, a senior, made six 3-pointers and led the Warriors with 23 points in a 79-69 overtime loss at Lake Stevens.

Julia Lucas, Archbishop Murphy girls basketball

Lucas, a senior, scored 22 points to lead all scorers in the Wildcats’ 54-35 non-conference victory over Kamiak.

Sam Olson, Monroe boys basketball

Olson, a junior, sank a pair of free throws with 8 seconds remaining as the Bearcats prevailed in a 53-52 non-conference road win over Arlington. Olson finished with a game-high 16 points.

Sterling Patton, South Whidbey boys basketball

Patton, a junior, nailed eight 3-pointers on his way to 34 points in the Falcons’ 79-65 victory over Oak Harbor.

Raigan Reed, Lake Stevens girls basketball

Reed, a senior, scored a game-high 35 points, including 21 in the fourth quarter and overtime, in the Vikings’ 79-69 win over Edmonds-Woodway.

Jaylen Searles, Jackson boys basketball

Searles, a senior, scored 27 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer with less 10 seconds left in regulation in the Timberwolves’ 65-55 overtime win over Meadowdale. Searles added seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and three blocks.
