Rodriguez drives in 6, AquaSox top Indians in slugfest

Everett rallies from a, early four-run deficit, takes an eight-run lead and hangs on late to beat Spokane 12-10.

SPOKANE — Alberto Rodriguez had four hits and six RBI, including a two-run double in a five-run sixth inning as the Everett AquaSox rallied from a four-run deficit to take the lead and held on late for a wild 12-10 win over the Spokane Indians on Thursday night.

Rodriguez added another two-run double in the seventh, his Northwest League-leading 30th of the season, to push the AquaSox’s lead to 12-4.

The Indians mounted a big rally of their own with six runs in the bottom of the eighth, but Logan Rinehart got a flyout with a man on to end the inning and the shut the door in the ninth to earn the save.

Axel Sanchez doubled, tripled and drove in a run, and Blake Rambusch went 2-for-3 with two RBI to pace the AquaSox on offense.

Brandon Schaeffer started on the mound for Everett (41-37, 7-5 second half) and allowed four runs on six hits in five innings pitched.

Lewis homered twice and Beck drove in three runs for Spokane (39-38, 6-6).
