Seahawks Grades: Good report card for Eagles’ game

Seahawks Grades

Quarterback (A-)

Tarvaris Jackson didn’t put up huge numbers, but was very efficient, completing all but three of his pass attempts. His 137 passer rating was the highest of his career in a game with more than 15 attempts.

Running back (A)

Marshawn Lynch was simply phenomenal, and his 15-yard how’d-he-do-that touchdown run set the done for a convincing victory. Fullback Michael Robinson, who had 41 receiving yards and big game blocking, also deserves a mention.

Receiver/tight end (B)

Golden Tate had the best game of his young career, while Zach Miller had a couple of nice catches. Mike Williams, however, was once again a glaring absence on the state sheet.

Offensive line (A)

Tarvaris Jackson was sacked only once, and the Seahawks averaged an impressive 5.3 yards per carry. Even better was the drastic improvement in the penalty department.

Defensive line (B+)

RB LeSean McCoy was able to make some plays when he appeared dead in the backfield, and the QB pressure was improved, but still not where the Seahawks would like it to be, but overall a solid effort.

Linebackers (A)

David Hawthorne’s interception was the big play of the game, but this group was playing very well long before that. Leroy Hill continues to look like the player he was years ago, and K.J. Wright was all over the field, coming up with two tackles for loss.

Secondary (A)

Other than letting a receiver get free once in the first half, this group was outstanding. Particularly noteworthy was the bounce-back game for Brandon Browner, who had two interceptions.

Special teams (B)

There were no big plays on Seattle returns, but just as importantly, none for dangerous Eagles return man DeSean Jackson.

Coaching (A-)

The Seahawks played very well four days after a brutal loss, and the game played out exactly the way Pete Carroll would have liked with a strong run game and big defensive effort.
