EVERETT — The Washington Wolfpack Arena Football One team overcame the three-touchdown halftime deficit to win 35-28 over the Oregon Lighting on Saturday at Angel of the Winds Arena.
The Wolfpack evened their record at 1-1 in their second season. Oregon, a first-year franchise, fell to 0-2.
Facing a 22-0 deficit at halftime, newly-signed Pack quarterback Ed Crouch Jr. ran for a long gain and then connected with Ledarian McAllister for the Pack’s first touchdown of the game with 12:10 left in the 3rd quarter. McAllister finished the game with two touchdown receptions.
A fumbled Oregon snap on the next possession was recovered by Washington’s James Aragon in the end zone for a Wolfpack touchdown. Washington defensive back Caleb Brown intercepted a long Lightning pass with 8:42 remaining in the third quarter to set up another Crouch to McAllister score to tie the score at 22.
Crouch, who threw four TD passes after replacing starter Adam Kruse in the second quarter, found Deshon Williams and Dom Moore to complete the comeback win.
