Town Center building gets OK
On Feb. 17, the city of Mill Creek’s Design Review Board approved the final building and landscaping design of a 19,000 square-foot retail building for Lot 4 of Town Center.
The site is situated at the northeast corner of 151st Street SE. and Main Street, opposite the LA Fitness building, which is under construction. City staff anticipates reviewing civil and building plans in March with construction of the new retail building to begin in April.
Public works supervisor feted
Dale Snelling, public works supervisor for the city of Mill Creek, was named employee of the quarter for the period of October to December, 2004.
Snelling was cited for being the first one called when there are problems and the frequency with which he has to work on weekends or after hours.
Quarterly employees are nominated and selected by their peers based on a variety of criteria.
Hearing on road improvements set
An open house about 196th Street SW improvements is 6–9 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 in the Canyon Park Junior High School gymnasium, 23723 23rd Ave. SE. in Bothell.
The project will effect 196th between 24th Avenue W. and the Bothell-Everett Highway. Proposed improvements include widening the road to five lanes, a center turn lane, bicycle lanes, curbs, gutters and sidewalks. New traffic signals would be provided at some intersections, and replacement bridges would be constructed at North Creek and Swamp Creek. The roadway would be realigned to eliminate sharp curves.
Donate sweaters at The Enterprise
The Enterprise Newspapers is a donation point in the eighth annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive.
The drive, an annual event of KCTS-TV and Northwest Harvest, collects new and gently used sweaters for needy individuals in the Puget Sound region.
The Enterprise offices are at 4303 198th St. SW, Lynnwood. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The drive ends Monday, Feb. 28.
Sponsors sought for Rotary auction
The Mill Creek Rotary Club is looking for sponsors for its annual charity dinner auction, which takes place on April 2.
The event has four different sponsorship levels, ranging from $100 to $1,000. In addition, tickets for the event are on sale for $60 per person. Three of the higher sponsorship levels include tickets to the event. The organization hopes to raise $50,000 at this year’s event.
